Sewing Starter Kits

Below are Amazon affiliate links to sewing tools, machines, and supplies I recommend for students who want to continue sewing independently at home. None of these items are required to get started, but they can support learning, build confidence, and encourage independence as your new sewer grows.

I started out at San José State University (Go Spartans!) with a degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies (Therapeutic Emphasis), where I discovered how powerful creativity and play can be in people’s lives.

Over the years, I’ve worked with everyone from children and older adults to people with developmental or physical challenges, and that heart for connection never left me.

Somewhere along the way, my love of sewing joined the mix, and teaching my two daughters sparked something new: a passion for helping others discover the joy of making something with their own hands.

That’s how Classes with Amber was born — a space where creativity, confidence, and community all come together. Thanks for being here and joining me on this Fulfilling journey!
